The colorful aspect of every culture is its attractive garments. We have many endangered species of animals and birds in India which we need to conserve, but what we do not know is that there are many traditional attires of India which are endangered.
Many of these traditional attires are based on the geography of a place. For example, Keralites wear a simple cotton dress because of the heat.
From our research we found out that many people do not know about their traditional dresses. T
o encourage people to wear traditional dresses, we went to many places such as super markets and malls and distributed pamphlets about the importance of wearing traditional clothes and also to make them aware and pass it to the next generation.
Eighty five percent of our interviewees did not want to wear their traditional dresses in public places. The reason is that they are hesitant. From this research we learnt that we have to pass the old traditions to the next generations.
