Plastic bags are everywhere in our environment. They cost very little and are also very convenient.
However, they greatly affect human health. Globally, several cities have banned plastic bags and some have enforced strict laws about this.

In Bengaluru, despite the ban, people are still using plastic bags. This has created large trash heap. Our research is all about the clogging of the Nagenahalli, Bengaluru drainage. This drainage is in this condition because people don’t care and on the other hand the government is not taking any strict action. As a result, it causes a foul odour and clogs the drainage pipes.

The most vital thing that has to be changed is that we need to enforce strict laws against the usage of plastic in all the forms. As plastic is also dumped everywhere on the streets it has also caused chaos for smooth movement of the traffic.

We conducted a survey in this locality. Some people agreed the consequences of plastic usage are bad. Others were not aware of it.

To find a solution for this issue we have decided to meet the area MLC* to discuss our initiative regarding the drainage problems in Nagenahalli.
