The common house sparrow has largely disappeared from urban areas of Bengaluru. Our areas for operation are a few parts of Bengaluru for example C V Raman Nagar.
We have been collecting donations from our neighbours and relatives. We will be using the money to make wooden nesting boxes and bird feeders as they are more durable.
We are educating people about how low the sparrow population in Bengaluru is. We tell them that if we do not start saving the sparrows then our future generations will hear of them only in stories and will never actually get to see one.
We have made a few nesting boxes and bird feeders using cardboard and plastic bottles. there has been a change. There are a few sparrows in our surroundings. We will work harder and will certainly make a change.
