Does geography have any role in curing diseases?
My grandma was a very strong woman who lived to the age of 65. I never heard her complain of any aches.
When I was suffering from a cold and cough, my mother didn’t take me to the doctor. Instead, she took me to grandma’s house . Grandma suggested a natural remedy — doddapatrey soppu in Kannada (ದೊಡ್ಡಪತ್ರೆ ಸೊಪ್ಪು also called “Mexican mint”). She prepared “Mint Cough Syrup” using mint leaves, rock sugar, and shallots after which I felt better and relieved.
My neighbor gifted me doddapatrey soppu on my birthday. From then, I wanted to know about it. I found out from my mom that it is the one of the most helpful plants you can ever find. It is a member of the mint family.
It’s not only a barrier to diseases but it is also a key ingredient in making delicious food items. It is mainly used in “Sambar”. Having known about the benefits of this I decided to share it with my neighbors.
How many people in my area know about this plant? How many are growing this plant in their homes? Is doddapatrey soppu a replacement for the intake of some kinds of pills?
Doddapatrey soppu can be grown easily in many climatic conditions. It is used as a home remedy for curing minor health issues free of cost.
